MINERAMA BOOK DOWNLOADS FROM ALF
Since 1990 the Minerama Committee has staged an annual gem, mineral and fossicking show in Glen Innes, NSW Australia. It is one of the largest shows of its kind in the country. From 1992 to 2000 a feature of the show was a theme mineral booklet, which was given away free in the early years and later sold at low cost.
Each issue has two essential parts. The general
information about the theme mineral and most of the photographs were supplied
by the late Heide Klingbeil while the Glen Innes locality information was
compiled by John Paix, who was also the overall editor for the series.
Remainders were sold at subsequent shows and they
are now being made available for free download from the Australian Lapidary Forum (ALF) website. (See listings later on in this blog.)
ALF is a valuable resource for anyone interested
in lapidary, gems and minerals in Australia and contains a large collection of files
and photographs which grows daily. It is hosted as a free service by Aussie
Sapphire Lapidary Warehouse, a progressive business based in Glen Innes. Why
not check out these websites and take advantage of the great features they have
to offer?
